Fall Weddings!

Love this FALL WEDDING!  The leaves turned out the most beautiful shade of yellow just in time for Robyn and Dustin to tie the knot at The Pines at Genesee.  The color of the dresses down to the smallest details were perfect for a this time of the season. Flowers were designed by Cindy Haas from Chalet Floral in Genesee.  Robyn and Dustin also had a really amazing live band that kept everyone on the dance floor all night.  From little girls to grandparents, it was the best dance party I've seen in a while! Check out Class Act from Moment's Notice Entertainment of Denver.

Dasha and Adam took their engagement pictures in LoDo Denver. It seemed like the first day of fall with gray drizzling rain all day.  But sometimes what may seem like not ideal conditions for a photo shoot turn out with the best images.  Just my two cents. So between the rain, umbrellas, and coats we came up with some pretty fun shots.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Congratulations to Abby and Jeff who married at a family member's home in Castle Pines.  They had a very intimate terrace ceremony with close friends and family.  It was truly a day to remember with amazing food, beautiful flowers, and even better people. I really enjoyed shooting this wedding!

Babies

So babies are of course the theme of this post! Pretty darn cute I must say!!! I am proud to announce that the first image is of my most adorable and lovable little marshmallow and niece, miss Elianna!  She makes me smile every time I look at her. Check out Brooke in the next image with her huge angelic baby blues.....love them.  Next was a family portrait with Molly and her parents at the Botanical Gardens.  Last is newborn Jace already giving us some great facial expressions and even a smile.  Thanks buddy.  Congratulations to Kristin and Robby proud parents of baby Jace!

Lauren and Kyle

Lauren and Kyle had a beautiful summer wedding in the mountains at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Here are some of my favorite details.  The venue, details, the stunning dress, and of course the bride and groom made this an evening to remember.  Congratulations!!!!

Lindsay, Steve and a Fire Truck!

You might guess that Lindsay's now husband, Steve, is a fireman.  He was able to get an old fire truck to Mile High Station for pictures...which turned out amazing.  They had a awesome ceremony and reception at Mile High Station where the guests ate Belgian waffles and omelets with all the toppings for dinner.  They had cupcakes for dessert and also incorporated a photo booth, which made for some really great pictures.  If you want to see a video of their day check out Chris's  Sky Focus Pictures video.  If you are in need of a videographer I highly recommend you check them out!  Congratulations to Lindsay and Steve...it's been such a blast working with you!

Lindsay's Bridal Portraits

Lindsay's bridal portraits turned out phenomenal!  I am so elated with them.  You may look for her portraits in the new face of Studio S Photography as I am in the middle of a website makeover.  The setting, light, and of course the bride made these pictures really stand out.  I love working with Lindsay and was so excited she brought her sister, mom and mother-in-law to be to the photoshoot.  I actually have about 15 favorites of which here are four.

Anne's Sculptures

While visiting Belgium this summer I stayed at the home of a host family from when I was an exchange student there.....we won't say how long ago.  Anyways, my host mom, Anne, is a very gifted sculptor.  I love her work!!! Love it!  So I decided to take pictures of all the sculptures she's created.  Well all the ones I could find anyways...they are quite literally all over the house. Here are just of few of my very favorites. Anne has also just informed me that she is in the process of making a lot more sculptures for an exhibition coming up!  I am so happy for her.  She really is a great artist!

Clare and Matt's Wedding in Boulder

Clare and Matt tied the knot at Boulder's Millennium Harvest House this summer. They met at college in Boulder.  Clare's the outgoing, roller derby girl and Matt's the quiet, nice, always put together type...so naturally they hit it off right away! They had many friends and family there to celebrate their marriage.  It was a great party!  Congrats!

Misti and Levi's Wedding

Misti and Levi tied the knot in Estes Park soon after her bridal portraits.  It was a breath-taking outdoor ceremony filled with purple flowers and a stunning wedding party.  I know I say this a lot, but it truly was such an amazing experience photographing Misti and Levi.  They are so cute!  Just look at the images of them together!  It was such a wonderful day to be a part of.  Thank you! Congratulations!

Misti's Bridal Portraits

Misti and I went up to Estes Park to capture her bridal portraits. It was a beautiful day and we only had to wait about 15 minutes for the rain to pass over.  I would say that's pretty good considering it was mid-day summer in Estes Park, Colorado.  We got some amazing shots at Lily and Sprague Lake.  We also stopped by the Stanley for a few shots.  It was so much fun to photograph Misti.  She is so excited to be getting married and it really showed! A big thanks to Misti's aunt and cousin who joined us and helped out with everything!

Brunch at Versailles

Through a wonderful organization called the American Friends of Versailles, my mother and I were able to attend a brunch in the Petite Trianon of the Versailles gardens.  It was quite the spectacle with Americans and Parisians dressed in their best brunch suits and dresses to attend a celebration for the restoration of La Pavillon Frais of Versailles.  We also attended a party one evening in the Hall of Mirrors of Versailles and the Orangerie.  I would have loved to share those images with you however my camera was stolen...which is a whole other story entirely.  But I am glad a have these images and as you can tell it was quite the event!

Paris Lights!

I had the opportunity to travel to Paris and Belgium this July.  It was a wonderful trip full of fetes (celebrations) with the American Friends of Versailles and good friends from Belgium.  I love Paris!  What more can I say.  It's been almost six years since I have been to Europe and I have sorely missed it!  I was so nice to walk along la rue and sit in cafes and hear nothing but french.  I missed the wonderfully rock hard baguettes, warm delicious croissants, trains that take you practically anywhere you want to go, the architecture, the art, the tiny streets, and well pretty much everything.....except for the smoking and tourist crowds =).  I took several pictures of the lights of Paris at night.  These are just a few.

Megan and Eric Tie the Knot

Megan and Eric got married this July at Three Trees Chapel overlooking the Colorado foothills. They wrote their own vows to go along with the traditional marriage vows, which made for very emotional ceremony with a little humor added to boot.  I think it is safe to say Megan is a little quirky and very hilarious! Megan and Eric are a great match and it was privilege to witness their wedding ceremony! They celebrated their marriage with a great party and some very fun friends and family!

Emily and Justin + 1

Well Emily and Justin finally introduced their new baby boy Noah into their family.  We did some family portraits of them near Denver.  Noah was a very good subject...for the most part! =) Never can predict what babies are going to do.  What a beautiful family! Congratulations!  We are happy to finally meet you Noah!

LeeAnn and Jack Leathem

I love this story! LeeAnn and Jack were married in Colorado Springs by LeeAnn's father a Baptist minister.  LeeAnn and Jack met at college in California where Jack's father happened to also be a Baptist minister.  Now Jack is going to seminary to be a Baptist minister as well!  Talk about a match made in heaven! =) Congrats to LeeAnn and Jack! They also have a very funny/goofy side.  Check out their slideshow posted on my facebook page!

Abigail and Jeff

Abigail and Jeff are getting married this September in Castle Rock.  They both came in from Kansas for this photo shoot at the Denver Botanical Gardens.  We finished up just as it started to poor rain and lightning like crazy.  I guess you could just say I have a little luck when it comes to weather.  Here's two of my picks from their portrait session.  Love the cherry blossom picture.

Christine and Trevor's Wedding

Christine and Trevor tied the knot on May 1st in Denver.  They met at a motorcycle club in Fort Collins..see the bottom right photo.  Yep they brought their motorcycles to the wedding for a little photo shoot.  We had a lot of fun with the props.  Overall it was a beautiful day, and I felt so privileged just to witness it. The are the cutest couple! I know you could probably say that about most couples...but I really mean it.  They are awesome and I have loved every minute working with them!

Andrea Royal

These are my picks from Andrea's photo shoot. She let me take her portrait while she was here.  Not only is she an awesome photographer, she's a pretty good model too! We took these at the Adam's county fair grounds museum.

My friend Andrea came into town to shoot a wedding with me.  While she was here I was able to talk her into shooting a much needed portrait.  I finally posted my portrait on the 'About' page of my website.  Needless to say I love the images she took.  This is one of my favs. Thanks Andrea!

This is my absolute favorite image of Christine! We spent the morning at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden taking her bridal portraits.  It was a cold day!  But despite the cold Christine was a trooper and she  posed for some beautiful images.  I love bridal portraits!!!!

Mairlynn and Jaime

I went with Mairlynn and Jaime to Heritage Todd Creek Golf Course for their engagement photo shoot.  Heritage Todd Creek is their wedding location but they also share a passion for golf.  We were able to get golf carts and take pictures along the course.  We found some pretty awesome spots.  It was raining all day until we got there and then the sun came out just for us! It really made for some amazing shots.  I'm so excited to be working with Mairlynn and Jaime, and I can't wait for their wedding!  Even if it is next year. Jaime also happens to have the same last name as a very famous Rockies baseball pitcher.  Check out the last image.

Istanbul, Turkey

I took a trip to Istanbul this January with my mom. We both really wanted to visit Turkey since it's somewhere we've never been and very different from what we are used to. I found a wonderful culture in Istanbul full of wonderful people, color, patterns and vibrancy like no where I have ever seen. Check out the next images and you'll see what I mean! (Above is the Blue Mosque in the historic section of Istanbul, two images of the Bosphorous River from the Sultan's summer palace, and me and my mom in Ephesus)

One of my favorite things about Istanbul was the details.....in EVERYTHING! From the tiles in the Blue Mosque to wood carvings, light fixtures, stone, mosaics, calligraphy etc. etc.

These images come from the Grand Bazaar and the famous Spice Market. I might actually like to shop for food if I lived in Istanbul. The Spice Market was by far my favorite. Fresh spices, nuts, candy, dried fruit, fish, cheese and on and on.... The Grand Bazaar unfortunately has become the world's grandest tourist trap (sad) but it made for some great pictures. And I did buy a really cool lamp there (see the top left image) even if it's not technically authentic! Istanbul is quite a magical place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting history, culture, and something different!

Emily and Justin are expecting their first child in April! I'm so excited for them. It's going to be a little boy! We went to the Rock Garden Site in Fort Collins to shoot these images. These two images were my favorites. Congratulations Emily and Justin! I can't wait to meet your son.

Christmas portraits of Beckham and Laney Matthews. I love photographing this little guy. Every time I get the chance to photograph him he gives the best smiles. I'm such a push over for this kid. These images were photographed at the parent's home next to their Christmas tree.

Stephanie and Patrick got married on November 21st in Boulder and had their reception at the Lyons Crest Manor. It was a beautiful catholic ceremony with friends and family flying in from all over the US. Stephanie and Patrick both recently graduated law school and passed the bar! The reception was so energetic and fun...everyone was dancing and celebrating. They have a beautiful family! Thank you for letting be be a part of your day!

I loved taking these portraits! Lindsay is really fun and outgoing. She was getting portraits done for her real estate business cards. She specializes in selling homes in Denver and teaching clients how to keep their homes energy efficient. If you are looking for a home in Denver let me know and I'll get you her contact info. We took these images in the Highlands neighboorhood of Denver.

Here are two images from Misti and Levi's engagement portraits. We went to Old Town Fort Collins and Grey Rock for these shots. They are such a sweet couple getting married this July in Estes Park. I'm looking forward to the wedding!
